Mr. Balwada has been providing independent expert witness services since 2023, with a particular focus on
Country Conditions Reports, legal opinion evidence, and document verification for immigration, asylum, human
rights, family, and criminal proceedings. His expert witness work has supported proceedings before courts and
tribunals primarily in the United Kingdom and also in matters involving jurisdictions such as Canada and
Australia. His reports are prepared independently, objectively, and in accordance with the duties owed by an
expert witness to the court or tribunal.
In addition to Country Conditions Reports, Mr. Balwada regularly undertakes verification and authenticity
assessments of Indian legal, governmental, educational, and civil status documents, providing detailed
analysis based upon his professional knowledge of Indian law, administrative procedures, and documentary
practices.
Mr. Balwada's expert witness practice is maintained with strict and complete separation from his advocacy and
litigation practice in India. A formal conflict-check and Chinese Wall procedure is conducted before every
instruction is accepted. Professional Indemnity Insurance specifically scoped for Expert Witness work in UK
proceedings, underwritten under English law, is currently being arranged and details can be provided to
instructing solicitors upon request.
CPR Declaration & Statement of Truth
Mr. Balwada's expert witness work is prepared independently, objectively, and in accordance with the duties
owed by an expert witness to the court or tribunal.
A signed CPR Part 35 Declaration and Statement of Truth accompany every expert report.
